I am still working with Crossminds and am able to choose the projects that challenge me and where I can contribute to a future with a more explicit vision while also making a contribution to implementing necessary changes in organization, processes, and systems.
At the same time, I make entrepreneurs aware that it is also nice to not have to run as hard as an entrepreneur when there is insight and overview. Entrepreneurship is a top sport and at some point, it is time to take a step back without compromising the ambition of the business.
I am currently enjoying working on such projects at an import and export company of overseas fruit and also an interior construction company. Additionally, I am involved as an advisor in a company in the event industry and a company in real estate management.
With this composition, I work an average of about 3 days a week, spread over 4 days. I have (finally) learned to say no even though I like to help people by nature. This has given me the balance I needed.
People then ask me what I do when I'm not working. I have to confess that it's not as spectacular as traveling and the like. I have more time to be at home. After years of (foreign) travel, staying in hotels in the Netherlands because you are far away on big projects, it's nice to just be there. I can now contribute at home to many things that always weighed on my partner's shoulders. She can now further shape her own ambition and start a business.
I also find the crypto world very interesting and spend an hour a day on a bit of crypto trading. This may not suit everyone, but I find it a fun pastime where you can also earn something (or lose, but that's all in the game).
Looking ahead
Looking ahead, I am happy to continue working with Crossminds at least. Many of my existing relationships are there, and for certain expertise, it is also nice to continue working with the Crossminds colleagues. Ultimately, it's not about me but about achieving the best results for the companies you help.
In addition, in the future, I would like to organize a retreat with my wife Miriam abroad, where the sun shines, to work with a limited number of entrepreneurs who are looking for more peace in entrepreneurship. The idea is that I take care of the business side for the entrepreneurs and Miriam takes care of the entrepreneur herself in terms of holistic coaching.
I would also like to look at innovative startups. I am curious about young entrepreneurs and how I could help them take the next step. In short A beautiful year, beautiful prospects. Not everything can happen at once, because I pay attention to balance!
